The D12 is a business multiple-entry visa for one or two years. It permits unlimited entries, but each individual stay is capped at 60 days. That is its defining feature and its main source of confusion.
It is built for people who come regularly on business: meetings with partners, negotiations, supplier visits, trade shows, inspecting production or property. The typical case is someone living elsewhere who visits Indonesia several times a year.
What it does not confer: the right to be employed or to earn from Indonesian sources. Business activity in the D12 sense means negotiation and representation, not performing paid work for the local market.
An important comparison. If you come two or three times a year, the D12 is more convenient and cheaper than arranging a visit visa each time. But if you actually live in Indonesia and only leave to reset the clock, you are making an expensive and tiring mistake — you need a KITAS. We will tell you honestly which of the two situations you are in.

Common questions
How long can I stay per entry?
Up to 60 days. That is the cap on each individual stay rather than an annual total — but resetting it with a day trip and living here permanently is not the intended use.
Can the stay be extended within the visa?
The 60-day cap per visit is set by the visa conditions. Longer continuous stays need a different permit type.
How does it differ from the B211A?
The B211A gives one entry with extensions up to 180 consecutive days. The D12 gives multiple entries across 1–2 years, but 60 days per visit. The choice depends on whether you live here or visit.
Is a sponsor required?
Yes, a sponsoring legal entity in Indonesia is normally required. We arrange sponsorship.
