US Visa from Indonesia — Applying with a KITAS

A US B1/B2 visitor visa turns on one question: does the consular officer believe you will go back? Formally this is called overcoming the presumption of immigrant intent — every applicant is treated as an intending immigrant by default, and the burden of proving otherwise sits with the applicant.

That is exactly why where you apply matters. An application from someone with no settled base reads weaker than one from a resident with documented status, housing, a company or a contract. An Indonesian KITAS is the document that moves you into the second group.

Applying from Indonesia as a non-resident is formally possible, but consulates are wary of "visa shopping" — filing in a country the applicant has no connection to. With a KITAS that question disappears: you are applying where you live.

How it runs

Assessment 1–3 days
